The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Animai fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Harris jabs Animai right on the nose. Animai blinks but takes it well.

Animai feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Animai postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Harris is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Animai, into his guard.

Harris shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Animai eats them both and turns towards Harris to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Animai shoots for a double leg takedown but Harris sprawls well. He's pushed Animai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Animai tries to score a power double leg takedown but Harris sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Animai somewhat.
Harris throws a series of strikes that have Animai backpedaling.
Animai changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harris tries to avoid it but Animai manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harris to the ground. Harris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Harris scores with a one two! Animai had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Animai tries to score a power double leg takedown but Harris sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Animai somewhat.

Animai closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Animai lands in his opponent's guard.
Animai slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Animai is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Harris looks calm but he's in trouble here. Animai gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Harris is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Animai lets go of the hold and Harris can pop his arm back in it's socket.
