Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mustapha El bongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Zumo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mustapha El bongo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mustapha El bongo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Zumo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El bongo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Zumo throws a nice looking combination but El bongo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Zumo tries to bum rush El bongo with a series of wild strikes but El bongo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
El bongo slips a straight right by Zumo.
Zumo tries a head kick but it misses.
Zumo throws a front kick aimed at El bongo's knee but El bongo avoids it well.

El bongo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
El bongo sitting and controlling from the half guard.

El bongo seems to be working for a kimura but Zumo defends the submission attempt.

Zumo wants to get back to his feet.
Zumo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
El bongo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
El bongo is tying to control. Zumo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zumo tries to kick El bongo off but El bongo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
El bongo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Zumo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
El bongo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Zumo misses with a few strikes there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Zumo throws a nice looking combination but El bongo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Zumo attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

El bongo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Zumo looks like he's trying to stand up.
El bongo controlling the pace.
El bongo uses his free foot to push down on Zumo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zumo.

Zumo is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Zumo is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

El bongo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Zumo turns into him and now he's in El bongo's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Zumo throws a leg kick but El bongo moved away.
Zumo looks to land a body kick but El bongo moved away.
Zumo throws a right and a left that El bongo avoids nicely.
No joy there for Zumo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

El bongo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zumo's waist but Zumo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing El bongo off to one side.
Zumo is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

El bongo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
El bongo fails to pull the fight into his guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fight stays on the outside here - Zumo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Joe Zumo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

El bongo moves into the clinch.
Zumo can't break the clinch.
Zumo wants to break the clinch but can't.
El bongo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Zumo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

El bongo gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for El bongo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
