Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Le (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Le!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Jones!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones walks into a straight right hand from Le.
Le misses with a two punch combination.
Le doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Le fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Le is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jones is controlling him.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Le has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Le's legs - danger averted.
Le is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jones wants to get back to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Le perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Jones tries to get to full guard but Le has control of the leg.
Jones trying to control but Le postures up.

Jones looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Jones is trying to control but can't.
Jones is trying to stand.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jones wants to control but Le is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Le looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Le shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jones connects with a body shot.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Le sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Le, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Le. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Le is breathing heavily.

Jones looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Le!
Le tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Le tries to hold on but Jones pushes him away.
Jones lands a nice shot to the head.

Jones looking for a guillotine from mount but Le is having none of it.
Jones has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Le's face.
Le is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Le is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Jones looking to control but Le is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Le tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Le is in a horrible position here. Jones smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Jones breaks from Le's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Jones content just to control the position here.
Jones looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones looking to control but Le is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Le takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Le in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Jones breaks from Le's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Jones with shots to the head and body - Le looks very uncomfortable down there.
Jones working away from the top, dropping strikes.


Le is rocked!
Jones lands a nice shot to the head.
Oh Le is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Le. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Le takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Jones's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Jones!
