Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael G Dias!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
G Dias shoots in and drives through. Silva sprawls well.
Silva throws a sloppy head kick and G Dias moves out of range easily.
Silva feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to G Dias's calf.
G Dias misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
G Dias looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but G Dias persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.
Anderson Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafael G Dias.

G Dias is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

G Dias drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva!

Silva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Silva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but G Dias is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
G Dias wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. G Dias knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Silva is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, G Dias has escaped the position, nice work there.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Silva in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
G Dias is pushing Silva's head away, looking to escape. Silva manages to hold on to the position though.
G Dias is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
G Dias avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Silva.
Silva has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Silva moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, G Dias has worked his arm free - good work by G Dias!

G Dias wants to get back to his feet.
G Dias takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Silva trying to control the position but G Dias is working away.
G Dias is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Silva asserts his dominance and retains side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if G Dias can do anything to dispel that myth.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva wants to control for a moment but G Dias uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Silva scores with a kick to the midsection.
G Dias takes a kick to the side of the head.
Silva throws a nice inside leg kick.
Silva thuds his right hand into G Dias's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Silva slaps away a takedown attempt from G Dias, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Silva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Silva connects with a leg kick. G Dias looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Silva throws a looping overhand right but G Dias ducks down to avoid it.

Silva lands with a kick to the temple. G Dias shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Silva gets caught flat footed, as G Dias shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

G Dias drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick G Dias off! G Dias jumps back into Silva's guard.

G Dias drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now G Dias has Silva in his guard.
Silva wants to stand but G Dias is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
G Dias is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Silva is controlling him.
Silva is in close to G Dias's body, working some short punches and elbows.
G Dias is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva wants to control from the top but G Dias keeps moving.
Silva pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. G Dias is keeping the position for now.
Silva won't allow G Dias to get back to his feet.

G Dias is sitting in close to Silva's body. Silva has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! G Dias is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, G Dias is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Silva.
