Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Lee Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Fitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitch tries to clinch up

and Abbott decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fitch's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Abbott stops Fitch from standing up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fitch can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fitch looking to control.
Fitch is looking to stand up but Abbott isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fitch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Abbott circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Abbott throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fitch's waist but Fitch gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Abbott off to one side.
Fitch lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Abbott changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fitch tries to avoid it but Abbott manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fitch to the ground. Fitch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fitch takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Let's hope that Fitch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Fitch's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Fitch can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Abbott is looking to escape.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Adam Fitch wasn't active enough on the ground.

Fitch closes the distance and clinches.
Abbott prevents Fitch from breaking the clinch.
Fitch is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Abbott pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Fitch swings wildly with an uppercut but Abbott uses good head movement to avoid it.
Fitch lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Abbott or not.

Abbott gets tackled into the cage by Fitch. Fitch maintains the clinch.
Abbott keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Fitch's efforts to push away.
