Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kaiser Soze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Hart is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kaiser Soze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Hart!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Soze as Hart shoots in.
Hart fails with a takedown attempt.
Hart shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Soze pinned against the cage. Soze gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kaiser Soze has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Hart.
Hart tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Soze swivels and escapes.
Soze fails in his attempt to clinch.
Soze shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hart counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Hart wants to lay and pray for a moment but Soze keeps working.
Hart keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Hart trying to pass the guard but Soze defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hart trying to control from half guard but Soze is working away.
Soze tries to roll over but Hart keeps him under control.
Soze is breathing heavily.
Hart controlling the action here.
I looks like Hart might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Hart tries to pass to full mount but Soze defends it.
Soze is trying to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Soze is refusing to be controlled, as Hart sits in half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Hart shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hart wants to control from the top but Soze keeps moving.
Hart throws a big right hand that misses.
Hart looking to sit in guard and control but Soze gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hart had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Soze is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hart Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Soze's back instead.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here.
Soze turns into Hart and is now in his guard.
Hart looking to control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Soze throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hart works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Hart looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hart looking to control.
Hart is looking to sweep but instead, Soze has passed into half guard.
Hart is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hart is trying to maintain the position but Soze is very close to passing his half guard.
Hart works his way to full guard. Good work.
Hart is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Hart has his foot on Soze's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Soze works his way back into a safe position though.

Hart has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Soze doesn't defend quickly enough and Hart has managed to lock this one up! Can Soze escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hart on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Steve Hart!
