PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Darius Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fly Weight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis comes to the cage accompanied by A Milile. Weight is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Hostile Mass. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis throws a nice inside leg kick.
Ellis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Weight will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Weight throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ellis scoring well with a low kick there.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ellis.

Ellis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Weight looks to land a combination but Ellis avoids it well.
Weight takes a swing at Ellis's ribcage but misses.
Ellis feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Weight's calf.
Ellis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ellis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Weight.

Weight stuffs the takedown attempt from Ellis. Ellis gets slowly back to his feet.

Ellis closes the distance and clinches.

Weight turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Weight manages to end up in side control.
Weight tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Ellis manages to get back to half guard.
Ellis is doing well to control the position and prevent Weight from advancing to side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Weight wants to stand up but Ellis has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Ellis gets full guard.
Ellis throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Weight really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ellis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ellis controls Weight momentarily but Weight frees himself.
Ellis pulls Weight in close to prevent any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ellis is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Weight closes the distance looking to clinch
and Ellis counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Weight is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Weight swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Weight looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Weight misses with a double jab
and Ellis counters with a big head kick but Weight shrugs it off.
Weight fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ellis shoots in and drives through. Weight sprawls well.

Ellis wants to finish this one by submission but Weight is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ellis.

Ellis goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Weight is on top in guard.

Ellis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Weight doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Weight manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ellis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Weight is looking to escape.

Ellis gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

and Ellis counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Weight throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Ellis counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Weight!
Weight is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee warns Weight that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That has opened up Fly Weight's cut even more.

Fly Weight's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Fly Weight's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
