PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Captain Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kid might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to lukenback texas. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Captain Kid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sub Zero!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kid throws the left hand but Zero avoids the punch easily.
Kid catches Zero with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Zero looks to throw the jab but Kid is out of range.
Kid tries to clinch up but Zero circles away and keeps his distance.
A big right from Kid misses.
Zero misses with a leg kick

and Kid holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A short left from Kid.
Kid unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Zero's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Zero being controlled against the cage.
Nice body punch from Kid - that landed with a thud.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zero is trying to pull guard but Kid has him pressed against the cage.
Zero can't find room to land a body shot as Kid controls the action.
Zero has Kid pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kid manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Zero is trying to stall.
Zero takes a shot to the head.
Zero fails to pull guard.
Captain Kid has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sub Zero.
Kid lands a body shot.
Kid tries to land a knee to the head but Zero blocks with his arms.

Zero wants to break free but Kid has control.

Zero lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kid backwards.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Kid lands with a right to the head.
Kid lands an elbow just above Zero 's eye.
Zero fails to pull guard.
Zero is trying to pull guard but Kid has him pressed against the cage.

The referee calls for Kid to work.

Zero breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Zero ducks right into an uppercut from Kid.
Kid cracks Zero with a good jab.

Zero is rocked!

Kid drops Zero with a straight right hand, right on the button! Kid follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Captain Kid decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
