Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Davison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Benevides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davison comes to the ring accompanied by Nowhere to run. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Davison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Benevides!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benevides tries to clinch
and Davison counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Benevides feints and as Davison raises his hands in defense, Benevides changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Benevides trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Benevides throws a big elbow that misses.

Benevides avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Benevides tries to stand but Davison is controlling from the bottom.

Davison looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Benevides stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Davison swats away the attempt to clinch by Benevides.
Benevides throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davison's waist but Davison gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Benevides off to one side.
Davison throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Davison swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Benevides shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Benevides shoots in for a takedown but Davison shows good takedown defense.
Joe Davison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Benevides.
A jab from Davison misses.

Benevides drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Benevides is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Davison has escaped the position, nice work there.
Benevides scores with a couple of short elbows.
Davison is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Benevides looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Benevides missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Davison manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Davison is looking for a triangle but Benevides pushes his legs off easily.
Benevides throws a big elbow that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Benevides gets to his feet. Davison looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Benevides tries to close the distance and clinch but Davison swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Benevides shoots for a takedown but Davison saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Benevides fails with the takedown.
Benevides walks into a jab.
Benevides shoots for a double leg takedown but Davison sprawls well. He's pushed Benevides's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Joe Davison is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Davison drops Benevides with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Benevides looks back up at him and smiles so Davison waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Benevides is rocked!


It looks like Dave Benevides has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Benevides looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Davison leaves Benevides with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Benevides looks gassed!
Benevides gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Davison gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Davison!
Joe Davison seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
