PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Lachlan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lachlan comes to the cage accompanied by Days Go By by Keith Urban. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Williams!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams shoots in for a takedown but Lachlan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Williams pushes Lachlan up against the cage in a clinch.
Lachlan throws an elbow but it misses.

Williams gets control of Lachlan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Williams will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Lachlan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lachlan works over Williams with some ground and pound from guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Williams is on top in guard.

Williams gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Lachlan tries to clinch up but Williams circles away and keeps his distance.
Williams swats away the attempt to clinch by Lachlan.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lachlan is defended easily by Williams.
Williams moves in looking to clinch but Lachlan pushes him off.
Williams shoots in but Lachlan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Williams shoots in looking for a takedown but Lachlan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Williams's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Williams shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lachlan but Lachlan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Lachlan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Williams swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lachlan connects with a nice short shot to Williams's temple.

Lachlan wants to pass to mount but Williams is defending the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lachlan is nestled in close to Williams, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Williams can't escape the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close second round but Steve Williams will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Williams has closed the distance and engaged Lachlan in a clinch.

Williams tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lachlan just stands there and leans against the cage.

Williams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lachlan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Williams shoots for a takedown but Lachlan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Lachlan goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Williams is on top in guard.

Williams wants to control from the top but Lachlan keeps moving.
Lachlan wants to stand up but Williams is controlling him.
Lachlan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lachlan is looking for a triangle but Williams pushes his legs off easily.
Williams must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Williams sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lachlan's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ethan Lachlan showed his dominance in that final round.
