Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcell Washington!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bowens closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bowens not doing much here.
Bowens is nestled in close to Washington, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bowens prevents Washington from standing back up.
Bowens stalling.
Bowens's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Jcb Bowens has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Bowens fails with a takedown attempt.
Washington throws a body punch but Bowens moves out of range.
Bowens shoots in for a takedown but Washington shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Washington fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Washington lands with a shot to the body.
Washington connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bowens has his takedown stuffed
and Washington counters with a straight right hand.
Bowens is breathing heavily.
Washington lands a nice shot that snaps Bowens's head back.
Washington scores with a nice strike.
Bowens throws a combination that misses
and Washington counters with a lovely straight right hand!


Bowens is rocked!
Washington fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Washington drops Bowens with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bowens looks back up at him and smiles so Washington waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Bowens is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bowens moves in looking to clinch but Washington pushes him off.
Bowens seems to have got his legs back now.
Washington takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Washington throws a monster overhand right that drops Bowens! Washington follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcell Washington!
An out of breath Marcell Washington thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
