Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Hughes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lou Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes tries to bum rush Williams with a series of wild strikes but Williams uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Williams looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hughes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hughes avoids the attempt from Williams to control.
Hughes tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hughes should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Hughes is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Williams can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Hughes with a couple of short strikes.

Hughes wants to take his opponent's back but Williams doesn't allow it.

Hughes goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Williams turns into him and now he's in Hughes's guard.
Hughes looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Williams trying to control but Hughes is working from the bottom.
Hughes is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hughes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Williams looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hughes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Williams's face as Hughes controls the position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Josh Hughes has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Williams misses with a takedown attempt

and Hughes counters by moving into the clinch.

Williams wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lou Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hughes jumps into guard, dragging Williams to the mat.
Hughes has a closed guard, preventing Williams from standing up.
Williams seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Williams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Williams tries to stand but Hughes is controlling from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hughes can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hughes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hughes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Williams tries to hold on but Hughes postures up.
Hughes controlling the pace for now.
Hughes scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Williams?

Hughes postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Williams looks a forlorn figure.
Hughes is looking to stand but Hughes has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Williams tries to hold on but Hughes pushes him away.
Hughes has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Williams's face.
Hughes controlling the position easily from mount.

Hughes wants to control the pace but Williams is squirming around nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Hughes moves out of range of the strikes.
Williams fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Williams avoids the head kick by Hughes.
Hughes misses with a hook. Williams ducked under it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hughes scores with a takedown into Williams's guard.
Hughes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hughes content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Williams has locked up a guillotine! Williams's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hughes is holding on here and Williams must be using up a lot of energy. Hughes has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Williams gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Lou Williams!
