PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Condit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Condit comes to the cage accompanied by RAWR. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Trevor Condit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Condit leaves Ryan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Trevor Condit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Ryan.
Ryan shoots in but no luck this time.
Ryan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Condit throws a combination. Ryan tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Ryan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Condit pinned against the cage. Condit gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ryan lands with a nice combination. Condit backs away looking to recover.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Condit enables Ryan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Condit manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Condit pushes Ryan off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Ryan looks for a takedown but Condit sprawls well.
Ryan throws a head kick but Condit moves out of range.

Condit wants to clinch.

Condit darts in and clinches Ryan up against the cage.

Ryan has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Condit uses from the top position.
Ryan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Condit!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Condit defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Ryan.

Condit has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Condit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ryan on the ground.
