Suulas is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hollywood Undead - Undead. Tarmo Suulas has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Andy Couture's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Suulas pinned against the cage. Suulas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Suulas tries to clinch up.
Suulas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Couture sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Suulas somewhat.
Suulas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Suulas blocks a head kick by Couture.

Suulas shoots in and gets a takedown into Couture's guard.

Suulas drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Couture dives on top into guard.
Suulas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Suulas thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Suulas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Suulas controls Couture momentarily but Couture frees himself.
Suulas is adopting a defensive guard.

Suulas has a closed guard, preventing Couture from standing up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tarmo Suulas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Suulas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Couture gets back to full guard.

Couture is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Couture seems keen to control Suulas's posture.

Suulas gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Suulas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Couture swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Suulas instigates a clinch.

Suulas ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Suulas no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Couture got a little sloppy there for a moment and Suulas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Couture has managed to get both his arms back between Suulas's legs - danger averted.
Suulas seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Suulas looking for a sweep. Not yet Suulas, not yet.

Suulas is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Suulas wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Andy Couture has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Suulas shoots in and bounces Couture off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Couture wants to stand and escape but Suulas is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Suulas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Couture is keeping the position for now.
Suulas throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Couture controls Suulas momentarily but Suulas frees himself.
Suulas tries to free his leg and advance position but Couture is retaining full guard.
Couture is looking to sweep but instead, Suulas has passed into half guard.
Suulas throws a strike but Couture avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Couture throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Couture is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Couture is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Couture throws a series of punches but Suulas avoids them all with ease.

Couture moves into the clinch.
Suulas lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Couture is trying to break free.

Couture breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Some wild striking there from Couture.
Suulas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Couture swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Suulas throws a body kick that misses.
Suulas misses the jab.

Suulas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Couture blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Couture blocks a body shot from Suulas.
Suulas misses with a hook from the clinch.
Suulas can't find room to land a body shot as Couture controls the action.
Suulas has Couture pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Couture manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Suulas lands a right hand that snaps the head of Couture backwards.

A frustrated look appears on Couture's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Couture wants to break the clinch but can't.
Suulas gets through Couture's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Couture blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Suulas breaks from the clinch.
Couture shoots in but Suulas avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Suulas lands with a short shot to the head.
Suulas takes a knee to the side of the body.
Couture has Suulas pushed against the cage.

Suulas manages to pull guard.
Couture trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Couture slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Suulas keeping moving, preventing Couture from controlling successfully.

Suulas trying to control the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Suulas gets the takedown into side control.
Couture tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Suulas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Suulas working the body and head with strikes.
Suulas working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Couture is rocked!
Couture is looking to get back to his feet here but Suulas is keeping cool and he's managed to take Couture's back.
Oh Couture is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Couture rolls, trying to escape but Suulas keeps control of the position.
Suulas punishes Couture with strikes from the back mount.

Suulas looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Suulas connects with a couple of big shots that have Couture covering up! Oh, this looks bad for Couture! Suulas fires away with several more unanswered shots and the referee has no choice but to step in! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
