The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone jabs Carlin right on the nose. Carlin blinks but takes it well.
Stone misses with a looping right.
Stone scores with a shot to the body.

Carlin closes the distance and clinches.
Stone can't break the clinch.
Carlin keeps control of Stone as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Carlin has picked Stone up - he's going for a ride! Carlin dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Carlin winds up and cracks Stone with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Carlin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Carlin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Stone is staying active underneath Carlin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Carlin lands a nice short elbow.

Carlin wants to pass to mount but Stone is defending the position.
Stone tries to get to full guard but Carlin has control of the leg.

Carlin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stone works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Carlin looking to sit in guard and control but Stone gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Stone wants to get up but he can't break Carlin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Carlin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Stone in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Stone knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carlin on the ground.
Carlin scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carlin is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Stone is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carlin unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Stone wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Carlin celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
