The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burton throws a left and a right that both miss
and Rua counters with a nice uppercut.
Burton misses with a body shot.
Rua tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burton was well out of range. Poor timing from Rua.
Burton slips under a jab from Rua.
Burton misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Rua counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Burton works over Rua's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Vergil Rua has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A looping hook to the body misses from Burton. Rua does a little dance to reset his feet.
Burton misses the shot to the body.

Burton cracks Rua with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Stan Burton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burton misses with an uppercut. Rua saw that one coming.
Rua throws a series of punches but Burton avoids them all with ease.
Rua uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Burton.
Burton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rua moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Burton drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Rua throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rua tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burton was well out of range. Poor timing from Rua.

Burton throws an overhand right that lands on Rua's shoulder, as Rua tries to avoid the shot.
Rua throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Burton.
Burton catches Rua with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Rua throws a right and a left that Burton avoids nicely.
Rua takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Burton takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Burton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rua manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A combination from Burton does no damage.
Burton tries to clinch up but Rua circles away and keeps his distance.
Burton lands a nice hook to Rua's body. Rua takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Burton rushes Rua with punches - Rua moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Rua goes down! Burton follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

A relieved looking Stan Burton thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
