Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Mingan Napayshni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Roy Country!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Napayshni fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Country.
Country closes the distance and clinches up with Napayshni, looking for a takedown. Country pushes Napayshni against the cage but Napayshni circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Country. Napayshni does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sloppy strikes from Napayshni. Those never looked like landing.
Napayshni throws a jab when Country was well out of range.
Country waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Napayshni.
Country uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Country moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Country shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Country was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Country sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Napayshni wants to control but Country is having none of it.
Napayshni knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Country on the ground.
Country throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Country prevents Napayshni from getting the reversal.
Country looking to finish Napayshni with some ground and pound. This is bad for Napayshni!
Country trying to control but Napayshni is having none of it.
Country sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Country looking to control but Napayshni is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Country looking to secure an arm triangle but Napayshni defends it well.

Napayshni wants to try and get back to his feet.

Country working for a guillotine from mount but Napayshni is in no mood to give up.
Napayshni is looking to get to half guard.
Napayshni is bucking up trying to escape but Country cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Country can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Napayshni is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Country tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
It looks like Country might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
A nice elbow there by Country.
Country landing strikes, looking to finish!
Country controlling from mount.
Country throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Napayshni because Country loaded up on that one.
Country tries to control but Napayshni wriggling away.

Country looking to finish Napayshni with some ground and pound. This is bad for Napayshni!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Napayshni can't escape the position.
Country looking to control but Napayshni is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Country takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Roy Country hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Napayshni misses with a hook. Country ducked under it nicely.

Country fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Napayshni throws a front kick that sends Country stumbling back into the cage.
Napayshni keeps Country at a distance using the push kick.
Napayshni throws a lazy right hand but Country sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Napayshni throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Napayshni stuffs the takedown attempt from Country. Country gets slowly back to his feet.

Napayshni throws out a leg kick but Country moves out of range and Napayshni only half commits.

Napayshni catches Country with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Country throws a good cross that connects.
Mingan Napayshni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Napayshni lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

enabling Country to counter with a crisp jab.

and Country counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Country has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Napayshni.

Napayshni managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Country.
Country has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mingan Napayshni will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Country makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Country drops his hands momentarily and Napayshni takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Country shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Napayshni pinned against the cage. Napayshni gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Country throws the left hand but Napayshni avoids the punch easily.

Country's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Napayshni connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Country scrambles back to his feet.

I would just about give that final round to Roy Country.
