Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jarrod The Hulk!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Hulk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
James tries to bench press The Hulk off him but The Hulk keeps the position.
The Hulk is looking to take a break and control but James is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The Hulk misses with the ground and pound.
James keeps The Hulk under control for a moment.
The Hulk looking to punish the body of his opponent here but James is avoiding damage well.
James gets back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. James manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
James manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. The Hulk manages to get himself to full guard.
The Hulk wants to get back to his feet but James is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
James is looking to work some ground and pound but The Hulk has wrist control.

James is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so The Hulk is just riding it out for now. James eventually gives up the hold.

James is looking to advance position but The Hulk won't allow it.

James looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
James tries to pass the half guard into mount. The Hulk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The Hulk is trying to stand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
James takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
James wants to pass the guard but The Hulk is defending well.

The Hulk uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
James throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A momentary lapse in concentration from James enables The Hulk to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. James manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

James working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. The Hulk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. The Hulk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
James wants to sweep here but The Hulk controlling him for the moment.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

James bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in The Hulk's guard.
James is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

James prevents The Hulk from getting back to his feet.
James passes The Hulk's left leg - he's now in half guard.

James frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

James is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and The Hulk defends well.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jarrod The Hulk wasn't active enough on the ground.

and James counters with a nice double leg into side control. The Hulk won't be happy with that.

James looks up at the clock and then as The Hulk takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, James smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

James's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

James wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by The Hulk, who protects the arm well.

James is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down The Hulk's shoulder. That is not cool.
James has knee on belly and moves into mount.
James with the ground and pound from mount.
The Hulk takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
James tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The Hulk is bucking up trying to escape but James cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
James lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

James is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that The Hulk can do to turn this around?
The Hulk takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Jake James is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jake James overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for James, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Jake James was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
