And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jones's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Jones pulls Jackson in close to his closed guard and prevents Jackson from doing any damage or advancing position.

Jackson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jones dives on top into guard.

Jones darts in and clinches Jackson up against the cage.

Jackson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Jones closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Jones bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Jackson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jones counters with a flying knee. Nice.

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch.

It looks like Quinton Jackson has been cut.

Jones has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jackson uses from the top position.

Jones lands an elbow that stopped Jackson in his tracks for a moment.
Jones is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A short uppercut from Jackson.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jones takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Jones lands an elbow just above Jackson 's eye.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Jones feints and as Jackson raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jackson has hold of one of Jones's legs. Jones is fighting the takedown attempt but Jackson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Jones is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones instigates a clinch.
Jones lands a body punch in the clinch.
Jones landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Jones manages to pull guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.

Jackson is trying to hold Jones in close to prevent damage but Jones has managed to pass into half guard.
Jackson wants to get back to full guard.
Jones content to control rather than advance.
Jackson has a hand on Jones's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Jones takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Jon Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Jackson wants to hold on but Jones pushes him away.
Jackson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Jones controlling his opponent.
Quinton Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jon Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
