The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benson misses with a combination
and Mcdonald counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Mcdonald shoots in and drives through. Benson sprawls well.
Benson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Benson lands in his opponent's guard.
Benson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Mcdonald is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Benson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mcdonald is keeping the position for now.

Benson is really struggling to control Mcdonald but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dan Benson.
Benson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mcdonald shoots in for a double leg but Benson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mcdonald takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Mcdonald looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Benson is fending him off so far but Mcdonald persists. Nope, Benson circles away and we're back to standing.
Dan Benson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trey Mcdonald.

Mcdonald tries to clinch up but Benson circles away and keeps his distance.

Benson drops Mcdonald with a big left hand! Mcdonald is injured, injured bad! Benson jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

A very excited looking Dan Benson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
