The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murray swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Murray punishes Smekhov's body with a nice straight punch.

Smekhov rushes Murray and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Murray lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Smekhov tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Murray avoids it.
Smekhov misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Murray.
Smekhov is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Smekhov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Murray scores with a one two! Smekhov had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Vitaliy Smekhov has been cut.

Smekhov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Murray swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Murray moves into the clinch successfully.

Smekhov stalling in the clinch but Murray improves position.
Murray's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Smekhov drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
With the fighters up against the cage, Smekhov throws an elbow but misses.
Smekhov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Murray after a bit of a struggle.

Murray manages to break the clinch.
Smekhov doesn't manage to clinch there - Murray circles away.
Smekhov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Murray manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Murray counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Murray catches Smekhov with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Smekhov forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
