PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Katsuo Takeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tino Martha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takeda comes into the arena with Warrior Asylum by Disturbed blaring out of the sound system. Martha comes into a darkened arena with his song building. TRIBAL SEEDS- ISLAND GIRL kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tino Martha!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeda moves out of range as Martha throws a body kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Takeda misses the target.
Martha lands a nice leg kick that just misses Takeda's sensitive parts.
Martha throws a chopping leg kick but Takeda manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Takeda throws the left hand but Martha avoids the punch easily.
Takeda connects with a single shot there.
Martha lets loose with a powerful body kick. Takeda will feel that in the morning.
Takeda shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Martha but Martha pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Takeda scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Martha comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Martha connects with a leg kick. Takeda looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Martha throws out a leg kick but Takeda moves out of range and Martha only half commits.
Martha bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Takeda fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Martha sprawls well initially but Takeda persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Takeda accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Takeda is looking to work some ground and pound but Martha has wrist control.

Takeda throws a strike but Martha rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Takeda is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Martha defends well.

Takeda bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Martha's guard.

Takeda has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Martha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takeda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
