Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Sproule (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Don Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Sproule!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Jones!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sproule throws a body kick that misses.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Sproule sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sproule throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.
Jones throws a series of punches but Sproule avoids them all with ease.
Sproule thuds his right hand into Jones's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.


It looks like Don Jones has been cut.
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Jones throws a nice inside leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sproule uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
Sproule misses with a wild combination.

Sproule closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sproule is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sproule is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jones will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones is looking for a triangle here but Sproule uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Sproule tries to move into range but Jones moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Sproule is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones slips a jab and a cross from Sproule.
Oh Sproule is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones looks to land a combination but Sproule avoids it well.
Sproule moves out of range of the body kick from Jones.

Jones is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sproule.
Don Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jones waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sproule.
Sproule changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Sproule manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Sproule. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones misses with a head kick.
Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for Sproule on that attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Sproule tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sproule manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sproule shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sproule pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Jones back to the cage. Sproule follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Sproule throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.

Sproule throws a right and a left that Jones avoids nicely.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Sproule. Sproule gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones cracks Sproule with an open hand slap.
Sproule tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jones thuds a left hand into Sproule's body.

Jones drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jonesis looking to pass into half guard but Sproule pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Sproule is in guard.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sproule. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sproule is controlling him.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sproule wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jones is trying to hold Sproule in close to prevent damage but Sproule has managed to pass into half guard.
Sproule prevents Jones from standing back up.

Jones wants to get back to full guard but Sproule has mounted him!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Don Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Sproule drops Jones with a beautiful combination! Jones stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Sproule is looking for the KO!

Jones misses with a two punch combination.
Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Sproule finish him?
Jones wants to clinch up but Sproule keeps it at a distance.
Jones seems to have recovered his senses.
Jones gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Sproule gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Jones is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Sproule!
James Sproule very nearly forgot to thank Snap Crackle Pop Fight Gear amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
