Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jun Choi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hari Alurin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jun Choi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hari Alurin!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Reed Andrews and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Choi moves into range and clinches up with Alurin.

Choi decides to pull guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Choi has his foot on Alurin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Alurin works his way back into a safe position though.
Choi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Alurin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Choi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alurin has managed to get both his arms back between Choi's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hari Alurin was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Choi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alurin tries to avoid it but Choi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alurin to the ground. Alurin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alurin thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Choi if he has to take too many more of those.
Choi misses with the combination.

Choi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alurin defends it easily.
Alurin looking to sit in guard and control but Choi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Alurin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Choi misses with a head kick.

Alurin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Choi avoids it really well and circles away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Choi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alurin pulls his head out easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jun Choi will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Choi has taken the fight to the clinch.

Choi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Choi throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Alurin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Choi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Alurin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Alurin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Choi did well to prevent Alurin getting side control.

Alurin is just content to waste time from the top position. Choi takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Choi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Choi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Alurin manages to get to full guard.

Choi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Choi decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Alurin, up you get!

Choi slowing the pace effectively.

Choi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Some bone on bone action there as Choi checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Choi tries to close the distance and clinch but Alurin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jun Choi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Choi tries to clinch there but Alurin circles away.
Choi fails with the takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Alurin gets tackled into the cage by Choi. Choi maintains the clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jun Choi dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Alurin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Choi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Choi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alurin manages to get himself to full guard.
Choi seems to have got his legs back now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Alurin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Choi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Alurin has managed to free his arm - good work.
Alurin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Choi not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Alurin is looking for a sweep. Choi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Choi has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Alurin defend it? Choi steps over the head and cranks it - Alurin is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Choi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jun Choi!
