Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Will Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Steinberg!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Williams or perhaps it was just good defense by Steinberg which made him look bad.
A big left from Steinberg misses.
Steinberg misses with a looping right.
Williams has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Steinberg finds it's way round the side to connect with Williams's head.
Williams shoots for a takedown but Steinberg saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Williams throws a combination that misses
and Steinberg counters with a good low kick that Williams was not able to check.
Williams doesn't manage to clinch there - Steinberg circles away.
Steinberg ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Steinberg fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Williams.
Williams takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Williams drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Williams jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Williams is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Steinberg is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Steinberg has escaped and now he's on top!

Steinberg wants to stand but Williams has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That was a close round but I would say that Will Williams will probably get the nod.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Steinberg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Williams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
