PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Turu Ropuia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silent Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob has chosen mama said knock you out as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Turu Ropuia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Silent Bob!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ropuia connects with a right hand. Bob shakes it off.
Bob throws a head kick that misses.
Ropuia will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bob should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Bob has Ropuia up against the cage in a clinch.

Bob jumps guard and drags Ropuia to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Bob had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ropuia defends it easily.

Ropuia wants to get up but he can't break Bob's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Ropuia tries to free his leg and advance position but Bob is retaining full guard.
Bob really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ropuia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ropuia passes into half guard.
Ropuia is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bob!

Ropuia gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Bob keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ropuia fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Turu Ropuia. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ropuia gets a clinch.

Ropuia successfully pulls guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ropuia is on top in guard.
Bob is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Ropuia stands and steps away. Bob gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Ropuia has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ropuia tries to pull guard but Bob holds him up against the cage and eventually Ropuia drops back down to his feet.

Bob has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ropuia is trying to keep an underhook but Bob manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Ropuia wants to get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ropuia moves into full guard.

Ropuia looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Bob is defending well. Ropuia quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Bob has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Ropuia celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
