Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ol Bastard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jannis Arvanitidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bastard comes into the arena with Montivantion blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastard with a jab.
A head kick by Arvanitidis misses

and Bastard counters with a single leg into guard. Arvanitidis didn't expect that.

Bastard avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bastard wants to control from the top but Arvanitidis keeps moving.
Arvanitidis wants to get back to his feet but Bastard is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Arvanitidis throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Arvanitidis has his foot on Bastard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bastard works his way back into a safe position though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bastard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Arvanitidis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bastard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bastard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Arvanitidis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Arvanitidis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bastard is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Arvanitidis looking for a guillotine here but Bastard defends easily.

Arvanitidis is looking for a triangle but Bastard pushes his legs off easily.

Arvanitidis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bastard can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Arvanitidis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Bastard trying to control but Arvanitidis is working from the bottom.
Bastard loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Bastard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Arvanitidis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bastard has managed to get both his arms back between Arvanitidis's legs - danger averted.
Bastard with a flurry of punches that miss.

Arvanitidis isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bastard stacks Arvanitidis on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bastard!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Arvanitidis regains half guard.

Bastard seems to be working for a kimura but Arvanitidis defends the submission attempt.
Arvanitidis is trying to stand back up but Bastard is controlling him

Arvanitidis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bastard pulls his head out easily.

Arvanitidis is in a horrible position here. Bastard smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Arvanitidis is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Arvanitidis can't escape the position.
Bastard lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Arvanitidis hang on?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bastard wants to finish this one by submission but Arvanitidis is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bastard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ol Bastard will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Arvanitidis dodges the punch combination from Bastard.

Arvanitidis lands a big head kick that sends Bastard tumbling to the mat! Arvanitidis takes a step backwards and waves Bastard back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Bastard is rocked!
Ol Bastard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Arvanitidis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Oh Bastard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Arvanitidis lands with a big right hook that stumbles Bastard - he's out on his feet here! Arvanitidis follows up with another monster hook that separates Bastard from consciousness! Bastard falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Arvanitidis stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
