Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between King Slender (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Grey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grey has chosen Soilwork - Nerve as his entrance music. King Slender has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slender misses with a few strikes there.

Slender rushes Grey and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Grey wants a takedown but no success here.
Slender wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Slender is looking to break free of the clinch but Grey has double underhooks.
Grey fails to pull guard.

Grey has hold of one of Slender's legs. Slender is fighting the takedown attempt but Grey gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Slender preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Grey wants to pass the guard but Slender is keeping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slender wanted to stand there but Grey had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Slender looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Grey takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Slender rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Grey moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Slender tries to clinch but Grey is having none of it.

Grey drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Grey thows a huge punch but Slender dodges it nicely.

Grey stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Grey lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Slender throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Grey counters with a two punch combo.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Grey moves out of range as Slender throws a body kick.
King Slender seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Slender tries to clinch up but Grey circles away and keeps his distance.

Slender takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Slender goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Jim Grey has been cut.
Slender keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
King Slender is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Grey tries to close the distance and clinch up but Slender swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Slender fakes the leg kick and cracks Grey in the body.
Slender throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Slender scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Slender throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Grey is rocked!
Slender throws a nice looking combination but Grey bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Slender connects with a crisp jab.
Grey chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Slender can pounce on him.
Slender tries to close the distance and clinch up but Grey swats him away and circles back towards the center.

so Grey counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Grey wants to control from the top but Slender keeps moving.
Grey has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Slender can't keep his opponent in guard - Grey advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Jim Grey has got the better of the ground game so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Grey is trying to control the action in half guard but Slender is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Slender tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Grey closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Grey decides to stand back up.
Grey shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Grey feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Grey uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Slender has taken the fight to the clinch.

Slender tries to break the clinch but Grey is controlling the position.
Grey wants a takedown but no success here.
Grey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Grey keeps control of Slender as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Slender is pressed up against the cage. Grey has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Slender down to the mat. Slender avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
King Slender has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Grey.

Slender tries to kick Grey off in order to stand up. Grey Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Grey throwing strikes but Slender manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Grey is trying to get back to half guard.
Grey is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Slender is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
King Slender has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
