Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Ribero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Lost in the Echo. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andre Ribero!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribero tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Johnson misses with a few strikes there.
Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ribero showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Johnson.
Ribero misses with a takedown
and Johnson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Carlos Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Ribero.
Johnson misses with a double jab.
No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ribero dodges the punch combination from Johnson.
A combination from Johnson does no damage.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ribero is defended easily by Johnson.
A jab lands there for Johnson.

Ribero slips a jab and a cross from Johnson.
Johnson leaves Ribero with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Ribero or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson which made him look bad.
Sloppy strikes from Johnson. Those never looked like landing.
Good shot there by Johnson.
Ribero shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Ribero bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Johnson lands with a right hand.
Ribero wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance.
Ribero shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johnson defends it nicely.

Johnson scores with a nice strike.
Ribero shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ribero dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Ribero's head and hops out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Johnson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Carlos Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Johnson scores with a jab. Ribero acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Ribero looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Johnson is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Ribero looks gassed!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Johnson stalks Ribero and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ribero's face. Ribero staggers backwards, shaken.
Johnson throws a right and a left that both miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Johnson dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Johnson scores with a nice head shot.
Ribero shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Johnson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ribero back to the cage. Johnson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
A combination from Johnson does no damage.
Ribero is trying desperately to land a takedown but Johnson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Ribero.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ribero.
A punch combination from Johnson misses.
Johnson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ribero will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Carlos Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Ribero.

Ribero throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ribero off to one side.
Johnson tries to bum rush Ribero with a series of wild strikes but Ribero uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Johnson throws a series of punches but Ribero moves out of range.
Ribero has his takedown stuffed
and Johnson counters with a three punch combo that has Ribero backing up. Ribero nods at Johnson to acknowledge the strikes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ribero will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johnson connects with a jab.
Johnson looks to land a combination but Ribero avoids it well.
Johnson fails to land with a series of punches.

and Ribero counters by moving into the clinch.

Ribero drags the fight down to the ground.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Johnson is looking to stand up but Ribero won't let him.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Ribero keeps moving.

Johnson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ribero has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Johnson is looking to defend but Ribero has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Johnson! Ribero pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Johnson taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Andre Ribero!
