The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen tries to clinch
and Gracie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jab, jab by Gracie - just one landing.

Gracie lands a head kick that stumbles Sonnen and the fighters go to the mat.

It looks like Chael Sonnen has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sonnen is pulling down on Gracie's head to control his posture.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Sonnen is keeping the position.
Sonnen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Sonnen is keeping the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sonnen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gracie connects with the punch.
Gracie lands a nice shot to the body.
Sonnen moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.
Sonnen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gracie sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gracie fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Gracie connects with a right hand. Sonnen shakes it off.

Sonnen is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gracie dances in with a quick combination. Sonnen is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Gracie snaps Sonnen's head back. Sonnen stumbles backwards against the cage. Gracie steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Sonnen's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Sonnen just didn't come prepared.
