The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villante moves forwards but Couture connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Villante darts in trying to clinch
and Couture cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Couture lands a really nice looking cross but Villante seems unphased.
Villante looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Villante shoots in for a takedown but Couture shows good takedown defense.

Villante takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
