Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Merce Poindexter!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poindexter tries to clinch there but Heleknus circles away.
Poindexter shoots in but Heleknus avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Heleknus connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Poindexter's hands.
It looks like Merce Poindexter has been cut.
Heleknus throws a right hand that Poindexter ducks under and follows up with a left that Poindexter also avoids with ease.
Poindexter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Heleknus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Poindexter somewhat.
Heleknus circles away from the clinch attempt
and Heleknus makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Poindexter looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Poindexter tries to clinch but Heleknus moves out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Heleknus misses the target.
Poindexter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Heleknus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Heleknus lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Poindexter is looking to close the distance but Heleknus sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Poindexter crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Poindexter is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
