PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Sin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Dziku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Xavier Sin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Damian Dziku!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Dziku trying to control but Sin postures up.
Dziku is in trouble now - Sin has advanced to mount!
Dziku keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dziku really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sin swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Dziku is now in Sin's guard. A big mistake from Sin there, giving up the dominant position!

Sin uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Sin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dziku avoids it really well and circles away.
Dziku moves in looking to clinch but Sin pushes him off.
Sin tries to clinch but Dziku is having none of it.
Sin shoots in for a double leg but Dziku sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Sin shoots in and gets a takedown into Dziku's guard.
Dziku keeping moving, preventing Sin from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sin wants to control from the top but Dziku keeps moving.
Dziku tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Xavier Sin.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dziku.

Dziku closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sin is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sin wants to control but Dziku is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Dziku escapes and gets back to his feet.

Dziku drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dziku stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dziku doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dziku manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

An inside leg kick lands from Dziku.

Dziku gets a double leg takedown into Sin's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sin keeping moving, preventing Dziku from controlling successfully.

Dziku trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Dziku gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Dziku moves into the clinch.

Dziku has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sin uses from the top position.
Dziku wants to stand up but Sin is controlling him.
Sin stopping the sweep attempt from Dziku.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dziku is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sin is controlling him.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Sin tries to close the distance and clinch but Dziku swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dziku is looking to clinch.

Sin with a lazy takedown attempt

and Dziku counters by clinching up.
Sin blocks the elbow strike.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dziku gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Dziku escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xavier Sin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dziku lands a jab-cross combination.
Dziku lands with a kick to the ribs.

Dziku shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Sin tries to reverse the position but Dziku maintains control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dziku wants to control the pace but Sin is squirming around nicely.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Damian Dziku wasn't active enough on the ground.

Dziku must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Dziku would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Dziku bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Damian Dziku showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Dziku looks to land a combination. Sin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Xavier Sin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dziku is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sin tries to clinch up but Dziku circles away and keeps his distance.
Dziku looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sin is fending him off so far but Dziku persists. Nope, Sin circles away and we're back to standing.

Dziku shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sin as he jumps to the side.
Xavier Sin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damian Dziku.

Dziku looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Sin!
Sin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Dziku trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Dziku might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Damian Dziku hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dziku lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sin backs up against the cage.

Dziku closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dziku lands in his opponent's guard.
Sin keeping full guard, as Dziku tries to pass.
Sin wants to sweep here but Dziku controlling him for the moment.

Sin is looking for a triangle but Dziku pushes his legs off easily.

Dziku stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Dziku manages to break the clinch.
Dziku throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dziku has closed the distance and engaged Sin in a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sin takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Xavier Sin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Damian Dziku is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Damian Dziku comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dziku has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
