Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcelinho Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giant Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kong has chosen GIANT KONG as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Giant Kong has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcelinho Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Giant Kong!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kong was well out of range. Poor timing from Garcia.
Garcia stuffs the takedown attempt from Kong. Kong gets slowly back to his feet.
Garcia moves in looking to clinch but Kong pushes him off.
Kong is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kong connects with a nice looking jab.
Garcia shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Kong counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Garcia looks to score with a jab to the body but Kong is just out of range.
A big left from Garcia misses.
Kong connects with a leg kick. Garcia looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

and Kong counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Garcia looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kong wants to improve his position but Garcia is controlling well.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Garcia connects with a nice short shot to Kong's temple.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Garcia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kong moves away.
Garcia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kong as he jumps to the side.
Garcia shoots for a takedown but Kong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kong is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Kong ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Garcia moves away.

Kong closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Marcelinho Garcia overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kong in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Garcia sneaks back into half guard.
Kong trying to mount his opponent but Garcia defends it.
Garcia wants to control the action here but instead Kong manages to pass to full mount!
Garcia has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Garcia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kong uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Garcia.
