The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Drake stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cyrus swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Drake postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cyrus is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Drake, into his guard.

Cyrus is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Drake still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Drake has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Cyrus jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Drake is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Drake and Cyrus has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Drake tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Cyrus cranks the arm and Drake screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Drake, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
