The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels missing with a left hand there. Deli was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Michaels circles away from the clinch attempt.
Deli avoids the body shot from Michaels.

and Michaels counters with a straight right hand.

Deli cracks Michaels with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Deli tries to bum rush Michaels with a series of wild strikes but Michaels uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Deli moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Deli throws a series of punches but Michaels moves out of range.
Deli closes the distance but Michaels moves to the side
and Michaels counters with a stiff right hand.

Michaels wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Deli has him pressed against the cage.

Michaels escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Deli displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Michaels throws out the jab.

Deli throws a right hand that Michaels ducks under and follows up with a left that Michaels also avoids with ease.

Deli moves to clinch but Michaels breaks away
enabling Michaels to counter with a crisp jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Deli shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Deli tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Deli misses with a body shot
and Michaels connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Deli lands with a nice combination. Michaels backs away looking to recover.

Deli dips to his left and cracks Michaels with an uppercut!
The crowd cheers as Deli lands an impressive looking overhand right. Michaels doesn't seem phased though.

Michaels ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Deli tries a head kick but it misses.
Michaels throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Deli.
Michaels avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

letting Michaels counter with a right hand.
Michaels tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Deli was well out of range. Poor timing from Michaels.

Michaels prevents Deli from breaking the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Michaels escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Michaels misses with a few strikes there.
No joy there for Deli, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Deli throws a nice looking combination but Michaels bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Deli throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Michaels misses with a straight left.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Deli rushes Michaels and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Michaels pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Deli dominated that round.

Deli tries to close the distance and clinch up but Michaels swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Michaels wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Michaels fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Deli on the side of the head.
Deli uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Deli swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Michaels counters with a nice body shot.
Deli throws the kick towards the body but Michaels avoids it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Deli fails with an attempt to clinch.
Deli moves to clinch but Michaels breaks away
and Michaels counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Deli! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Michaels!
