Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Cooke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooke comes to the cage accompanied by Inner Heat & Atmozfears - Distortion Fields. The key to victory for Eric Cooke has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Cooke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake James!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooke throws a nice inside leg kick.
Cooke connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


It looks like Jake James has been cut.

Cooke dives in and scores a takedown into James's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
James seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
James looking for a sweep. Not yet James, not yet.
Cooke stays in close to James's body and controls the position.
Cooke trying to control but James is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Eric Cooke.
James fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

James bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

James is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cooke is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Cooke tries to buck James off but James is having none of it.
Cooke sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cooke makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cooke.
James postures up.
Cooke wants to sweep here but James controlling him for the moment.
James missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
James trying to control but Cooke is working from the bottom.
James throws a strike but Cooke rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Cooke postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James tries to land a sweep but no joy.
James is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
James avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
James looking for a sweep. Not yet James, not yet.
Cooke tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cooke won't allow James to sweep him here.
Cooke lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Cooke missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cooke trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
James bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cooke's guard.
Cooke trying to keep a closed guard but James is proving a slippery customer.
James trying to control but Cooke is working from the bottom.
James slips nicely into half guard.

James is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
James is trying to control the action in half guard but Cooke is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Cooke moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

James wants to control from the top but Cooke keeps moving.
Cooke tries to land a sweep but no joy.
James is looking to advance position but Cooke has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Cooke lands a big elbow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cooke is in the full mount, landing strikes.
James is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Cooke unloading with bombs!
Cooke postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! James is out cold - huge knockout for Cooke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Eric Cooke!
Eric Cooke really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that TFP Graphics - Pit Inc logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
