Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aapo Kalypsi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dan McGrew!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kalypsi moves into the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kalypsi.

Kalypsi manages to break the clinch.
McGrew does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Kalypsi connects with a body shot.
That kick from Kalypsi tenderised McGrew's leg. McGrew is trying to keep his angry face on.
Nice sprawl there from Kalypsi as McGrew shoots in.
Kalypsi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McGrew throws out the jab.
McGrew avoids a kick to the body.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kalypsi.
McGrew walks into a left hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McGrew slaps away a takedown attempt from Kalypsi, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kalypsi cracks McGrew with a right hand to the side of the head.

McGrew misses with a hook.
Kalypsi looks to land a body kick but McGrew moved away.
Kalypsi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. McGrew manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kalypsi misses with a straight right.
McGrew throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kalypsi sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kalypsi is looking to clinch but McGrew is avoiding it.
McGrew connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kalypsi. Kalypsi circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Kalypsi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McGrew avoids it really well and circles away.

Kalypsi cracks McGrew with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! McGrew looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Kalypsi finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McGrew circles away from the clinch attempt
and McGrew counters with a three punch combo that has Kalypsi backing up. Kalypsi nods at McGrew to acknowledge the strikes.
McGrew tries to bum rush Kalypsi with a series of wild strikes but Kalypsi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kalypsi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McGrew sprawls well. McGrew wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kalypsi gets slowly back to his feet.

McGrew pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
McGrew fails to land with a series of punches.
McGrew tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kalypsi is able to avoid easily.
Kalypsi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McGrew.
McGrew misses with a head kick.
Kalypsi throws a front kick that sends McGrew stumbling back into the cage.
McGrew looks winded!

Kalypsi gets the takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kalypsi has knee on belly and moves into mount.
McGrew tries to lock up and control but Kalypsi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kalypsi scoring with strikes but McGrew is staying in there.

McGrew is rocked!
McGrew is squirming around, avoiding Kalypsi's attempts to control the action.
McGrew is still in real trouble! Can Kalypsi finish him?

Kalypsi prevents McGrew from getting the reversal.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McGrew seems to have recovered his senses.
Kalypsi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. McGrew looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kalypsi has momentary wrist control but McGrew slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McGrew has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kalypsi wants to control but McGrew is keeping busy and won't allow it.
McGrew wants to take a breather but Kalypsi is having none of it.
Well, if McGrew is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
McGrew seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
