Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Mathis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Mazer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mazer has chosen The Fighter as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, William Mathis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Mazer!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazer misses with a takedown attempt

and Mathis counters with a single leg into guard. Mazer didn't expect that.

Mazer scrambles and gets back to his feet.
No luck for Mathis with that takedown attempt.
Mazer shoots for a takedown but Mathis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mazer stuffs the takedown attempt from Mathis. Mathis gets slowly back to his feet.
Mathis tries to land a front kick but Mazer steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Mazer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mazer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
William Mathis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Mazer.

and Mathis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mathis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Mazer is looking to sweep but instead, Mathis has passed into half guard.
Mathis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mazer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mathis passes to side control.

Mathis has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Mazer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mazer lands in his opponent's guard.

Mathis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mazer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mazer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mathis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mathis tries to get out of the position.

Mathis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mazer is aware though and is defending well.

Mazer passes Mathis's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mazer is trying to control the action in half guard but Mathis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Mathis is looking for a sweep. Mazer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mathis works his way to full guard. Good work.
Mathis is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mathis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mazer controls the pace.
Mazer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mathis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mathis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mathis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mazer manages to get himself to full guard.
Mazer lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mathis!
Mazer looking to control but Mathis is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mathis is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Mazer tries to control but Mathis wriggling away.
Mazer is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Mazer sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Mazer lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Mazer controlling his opponent.
Mathis tries to hold on but Mazer postures up.
Mathis is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mazer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Mathis keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Mathis is squirming around, avoiding Mazer's attempts to control the action.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mazer raining down shots from the mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mike Mazer will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Mathis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mathis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Mazer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mathis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mathis's back!
Mazer lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Mathis prevents Mazer from getting a body triangle.
Mathis is holding onto Mazer's left hand, preventing any choke attempts.
Mathis covering up well and avoiding damage.
Mazer is looking to control Mathis but Mathis is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Mazer is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
I would not like to be Mathis right now.
Mathis trying to control but not successfully.
Mazer lands with a hammerfist to the side of Mathis's head.
Mazer tries to get the hooks in deep but Mathis pushed the leg off.
Even with his hooks in, Mazer manages to miss with strikes from the back.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Mazer's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Mazer might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mathis kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Mathis tries to roll but Mazer sticks to his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mazer slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Mathis really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Mazer's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Mazer's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Mazer lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Mazer.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mathis is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Mazer trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Mathis trying to control the action but Mazer just sinks the hooks in.
Mazer has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mathis's body.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mike Mazer.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mazer.
Mazer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Mathis fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mazer to the ground. Mathis is now in Mazer's guard.

Mazer pushes Mathis off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Mazer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A head kick misses from Mathis.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mazer shoots in for a takedown but Mathis shows good takedown defense.
William Mathis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mazer keeps the fight on the outside.
Mathis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mazer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mathis somewhat.
Mazer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mathis but Mathis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Mazer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Mathis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mazer defends it easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mazer wants to control from the top but Mathis keeps moving.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mike Mazer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Mathis throws a right and a left that Mazer avoids nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mike Mazer has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Mazer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mathis is trying to defend but Mazer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
