PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Runner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Frank Mir has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Frank Mir seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Runner bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Runner decides to stand back up.

Runner shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mir is looking to improve his position.
Mir works his way to full guard. Good work.

Mir is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Runner stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Mir tries to pull guard but Runner won't allow it.

Mir swings wildly with an uppercut but Runner uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mir tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Runner just stands there and leans against the cage.

Runner throws a head punch that misses.
Runner is pushing Mir up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Johny Runner.
Runner takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Runner gets a takedown into half guard.
Mir could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Runner stands up out of the half guard.
Runner looks gassed!

Runner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mir has his feet on Runner's thighs here. He's pushed Runner off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Runner screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
