The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laine lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dignam at a distance.
A chopping leg kick lands by Laine.
Dignam looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Laine looks to score with a jab to the body but Dignam is just out of range.
Dignam fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Laine has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Laine gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Dignam holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Laine is trying to maintain a safe position but Dignam gets an underhook and turns Laine into the cage.

Laine breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dignam fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dignam feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Laine's calf.
Laine tries to land a leg kick but Dignam saw it coming and moves away.
Dignam blocks a head kick by Laine.
Laine connects with a leg kick. Dignam looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dignam ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

That kick from Dignam tenderised Laine's leg. Laine is trying to keep his angry face on.

Dignam pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Dignam lands a big right hand that sends Laine crashing to the mat! Dignam stays standing though and waves Laine back to his feet!

It looks like Viljo Laine has been cut.
Dignam throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Laine counters with a body kick that stops Dignam in his tracks momentarily.
Laine throws a hook to the side of Dignam's head but Dignam sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dignam misses with a head kick.
Laine bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Dignam's head backwards.
Dignam scores with a jab to the body.
Dignam cracks the inside of Laine's front leg.

Dignam tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A right-left combo lands from Laine.
Dignam misses with a two punch combination.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dignam. Laine does a little dance to reset his feet.
Laine connects with a leg kick. Dignam looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Dignam has Laine up against the cage in a clinch.
Dignam lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Laine wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dignam has him pressed against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Laine tries to break the clinch but Dignam is controlling the position.
Dignam lands a hook to the side of the head.
Dignam lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Dignam misses with a body punch.
A short body shot lands from Dignam as the two fighters clinch.
Laine wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Dignam lands a nice shot to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Dignam's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dignam cracks Laine with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Dignam pivots, looking for a leg kick but Laine is out of range and Dignam settles back down.

Dignam takes the fight into the clinch.
Laine misses with a hook to the ribs.
Laine is breathing heavily.
Dignam scores with a shot to the side of Laine's head.

Dignam tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Dignam lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Laine's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Dignam digs a right hand into Laine's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Laine's gas tank.
Dignam dips a shoulder and cracks Laine with a mighty uppercut! Laine falls back against the cage and Dignam unloads with a barrage of strikes! Laine is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Dignam screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
