PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Keith Jardean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jardean might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Can't be Touched. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Jardean.

Jardean rushes Shamrock and presses him up against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shamrock drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jardean looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jardean looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jardean!

and Jardean counters with a shoot takedown. Shamrock fights it but they end up in guard.

Jardean is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shamrock stalling away here and it's allowed Jardean to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

A jab-cross combination lands for Shamrock and sends Jardean crashing to the mat! Shamrock follows him down to the mat - Jardean regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Keith Jardean has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shamrock thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jardean's head.
Oh Jardean is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Shamrock thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jardean is staying active underneath Shamrock, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Shamrock seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Jardean's chin but Jardean turns very nicely into Shamrock's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Jardean.
Keith Jardean overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Shamrock is working an open guard so Jardean takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Jardean scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

A big right followed by a crushing left from Jardean knocks Shamrock out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
