The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monster shoots in for a takedown but Germanicus shows good takedown defense.
Monster closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Monster wants to break the clinch but can't.
Germanicus throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Monster blocks it with crossed arms.

Monster tries to land knees in the clinch but Germanicus avoids the damage to the body.

Monster tries to close the distance and clinch but Germanicus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Monster looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Germanicus gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Monster.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Germanicus connects with a good right hand that stumbles Monster. Monster circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Germanicus throws a low kick but it's checked well by Monster.
Monster is still on wobbly legs! Can Germanicus finish him?
Germanicus lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Monster up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Germanicus from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Monster's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hagen Germanicus!
