The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darko throws a jab but it's blocked by Cooper.
Darko misses with a wild body shot.
Darko throws a right hand that misses
and Cooper counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Cooper staying out of range there.
Darko defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cooper.
Cooper fails with the takedown.
Cooper gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Darko counters with a takedown into side control.
Donnie Darko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sephiroth Cooper.
Darko throws a strike aimed at the side of Cooper's head but Cooper avoids it well.
Darko creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cooper sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cooper is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Darko cracks Cooper with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Darko is nestled in close to Cooper, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Darko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cooper does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Darko is really struggling to control Cooper but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Darko lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cooper is looking to control Darko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cooper avoid being mounted?
Darko looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cooper with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Darko is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Darko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cooper has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Darko has managed to get both his arms back between Cooper's legs - danger averted.

Cooper has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Darko doesn't defend quickly enough and Cooper has managed to lock this one up! Can Darko escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Cooper on a fantastic submission victory.
