The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Rodriguez misses.
Rodriguez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rice pinned against the cage. Rice gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rodriguez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Rice connects with a body shot.

Rodriguez has taken the fight to the clinch.

Rodriguez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rice uses from the top position.
Rodriguez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rice's guard.
Rice is looking to sweep but instead, Rodriguez has passed into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodriguez doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Rice cracks a nice hook into Rodriguez's ribs.
A slapping leg kick lands for Rice.

Rodriguez fails with a takedown attempt.
Rice connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rodriguez. Rodriguez circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Rice turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Rice punishes Rodriguez's body with a nice straight punch.
Rodriguez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rice.
Rice measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Rodriguez! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
