Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leon Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Ripkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaw's entrance music is ima boss. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Ripkin!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Shaw escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ripkin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Shaw can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ripkin controls the pace.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Josh Ripkin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ripkin is defended easily by Shaw.
Shaw feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Ripkins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Shaw throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ripkin's waist but Ripkin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shaw off to one side.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shaw accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ripkin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shaw is controlling him.
Shaw wants to control from the top but Ripkin keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Josh Ripkin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shaw dives in and grabs Ripkin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ripkin pushes down on Shaw's head and hops out.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ripkin is working for takedown but Shaw is calmly controlling the position for now.
Leon Shaw has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Shaw jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ripkin walks away with a smile on his face. Shaw gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

And that's the end of the fight!

I've got Ripkin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
