The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox throws a jab when Santos was well out of range.
Knox just misses with a punch to the body.
Santos tries to clinch but Knox is having none of it.

Santos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Santos showed some decent athleticism there.

Santos is looking for a kimura but Knox is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Santos to get the leverage.
Knox is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Santos throwing shots but Knox is blocking nicely.

Santos looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That was a close round but I would say that Johnny Knox will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Knox lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Knox drops Santos onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Santos is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Santos looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Santos tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Santos shoots in looking for a takedown. Knox tries to sprawl out of it but Santos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Knox manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Knox lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Santos to his knees! Knox keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
