Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Damon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Damon kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Granite By Pendulum. Adam Schmidt will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sean Damon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adam Schmidt!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt pushes Damon up against the cage in a clinch.
Schmidt breaks the clinch.
Damon throws a leg kick which misses Schmidt's front leg but catches the back leg as Schmidt tries to avoid it.
Damon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Schmidt tries to bum rush Damon with a series of wild strikes but Damon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Schmidt lands a nice shot to the body.
Damon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Horrible takedown by Damon or perhaps it was just good defense by Schmidt which made him look bad.
Damon misses with a low kick.
Schmidt fails in his attempt to clinch.
Schmidt misses with the combination.
Schmidt drives through and clinches with Damon against the cage.
Damon stops a takedown attempt from Schmidt.
Schmidt is trying to break free.
Damon keeps control of Schmidt as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Damon manages to break the clinch.
Schmidt circles away from the clinch attempt
and Schmidt counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Damon wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Damon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Schmidt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Schmidt darts in and clinches Damon up against the cage.
Schmidt is trying to break the clinch but Damon has him pressed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Damon can't get the takedown.
Schmidt wants to break free but Damon has control.
Schmidt has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Damon avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Schmidt is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Damon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Damon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Schmidt smiles and moves away.
Damon shoots for a double leg takedown but Schmidt sprawls well. He's pushed Damon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Schmidt counters by clinching up.
Damon is breathing heavily.
Schmidt looking for a takedown.
Schmidt wants to break the clinch but can't.
A left hand lands to the body for Schmidt.
Schmidt has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Damon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Damon stops a takedown attempt from Schmidt.
Damon changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Schmidt fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Schmidt closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Schmidt is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Damon gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Damon prevents Schmidt from breaking the clinch.
Damon lands a nice knee to the body.
A right hand to the body from Schmidt.

Schmidt has had enough of the clinch but Damon keeps him there for the moment.
Damon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Damon wants to break free but Schmidt has control.
Schmidt can't get the takedown.
Schmidt breaks the clinch.
Damon tries to clinch but Schmidt moves out of range.
Schmidt rushes Damon and presses him up against the cage.
Damon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Schmidt drops down looking for an ankle pick but Damon pulls his leg out and moves away.
Oooh a lovely combination from Schmidt sends Damon down but not out. Schmidt dives into side control looking to finish.
Damon is rocked!
It looks like Sean Damon has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Schmidt in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Damon looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Schmidt turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adam Schmidt!
