Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Bisping!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Markakis!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bisping throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Markakis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Markakis not doing much here.

Markakis stands up out of the half guard.
Bisping takes a swing at Markakis's ribcage but misses.
Markakis shoots in looking for a takedown. Bisping tries to sprawl out of it but Markakis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bisping manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Markakis counters with a head kick.
Bisping throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Markakis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bisping is trying to maintain the position but Markakis is very close to passing his half guard.
Bisping is breathing heavily.
Markakis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Markakis missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Markakis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Markakis is thwarting Bisping's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bisping is defending against the submission attempts here by Markakis.

Markakis decides to stand and escape the position.
Michael Bisping is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bisping tries to sprawl but Markakis drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Bisping is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Markakis pulls his head out easily.

Markakis postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Bisping to stand up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bisping stuffs the takedown attempt from Markakis. Markakis gets slowly back to his feet.
Markakis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Michael Bisping has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Markakis.
Markakis looks for a takedown but Bisping sprawls well.

Bisping leaves Markakis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Markakis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bisping's guard.

Markakis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Markakis with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Markakis connects with a couple of short punches.

Markakis gets to his feet - Bisping follows without any prompting.
Bisping misses with a double jab

so Markakis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Markakis advances to half guard.

Markakis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bisping defends it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Markakis wants to take a breather but Bisping is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bisping is trying to maintain the position but Markakis is very close to passing his half guard.

Markakis stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Markakis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Markakis gets to his feet. Bisping looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Bisping throws a poor cross that misses

and Markakis counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Markakis prevents Bisping from breaking the clinch.
Bisping is trying to break free.
Markakis's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Markakis jumps guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Markakis dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Markakis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Markakis trying to control the position from guard on top but Bisping is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Markakis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bisping has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Markakis has managed to get both his arms back between Bisping's legs - danger averted.
Markakis is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Nick Markakis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Markakis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Markakis trying to control the position from guard on top but Bisping is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Markakis distracts Bisping with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Markakis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Bisping displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Markakis.
Markakis tries for a takedown but Bisping sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Bisping throws a lazy uppercut

and Markakis counters by moving into the clinch.
Bisping wants to break free but Markakis has control.
Bisping wants to get back to striking at distance but Markakis won't allow it.

Bisping wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Bisping is trying to break the clinch but Markakis is controlling him.
Markakis lands a nice knee to the body.
Bisping is trying to force a seperation but Markakis has the dominant position.

Markakis jumps into guard, dragging Bisping to the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Markakis looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bisping trying to control but Markakis is working from the bottom.

Markakis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bisping's guard.

Markakis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bisping knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Markakis on the ground.
Markakis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Bisping slaps away a takedown attempt from Markakis, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Michael Bisping seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Markakis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Markakis showed some decent athleticism there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Markakis decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Bisping throws a left and a right that both miss

and Markakis counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Markakis.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Markakis has picked Bisping up - he's going for a ride! Markakis dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Markakis drops an elbow to the side of Bisping's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Markakis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Markakis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bisping throws out the jab.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Markakis.

Markakis has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Bisping is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Markakis yanks on the arm and Bisping is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Markakis.
