PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kiko Kiko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kiko Kiko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dustin Moore!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kiko throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kiko shoots in but no luck this time.
A head kick misses from Moore.
Moore pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Kiko throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Kiko lands with a nice combination. Moore backs away looking to recover.

Moore has Kiko up against the cage in a clinch.

Moore's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Moore shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kiko trying to hold on to Moore's head to control him but Moore postures up.
Kiko is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Moore is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Moore trying to pass the guard but Kiko defending well.
Moore thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kiko's head.
Moore has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kiko keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Moore scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Kiko?
Moore takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Moore gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kiko is defended easily by Moore.
Moore misses with a hook.

Moore closes the distance and clinches.

Moore jumps into guard, dragging Kiko to the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Moore wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Moore is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Moore manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Moore shoots in looking for a takedown. Kiko tries to sprawl out of it but Moore keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kiko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Moore counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Moore.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kiko Kiko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kiko is on top in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Moore escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kiko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Moore is looking for a triangle but Kiko pushes his legs off easily.
Moore looks gassed!
Moore not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kiko wants to control from the top but Moore keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Moore has a closed guard, preventing Kiko from standing up.
Kiko tries to free his leg and advance position but Moore is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dustin Moore dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Moore tries to clinch but Kiko moves out of range.
Moore will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Moore keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Moore closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kiko did well to prevent Moore getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kiko tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kiko flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Moore seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dustin Moore wasn't active enough on the ground.
Kiko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Moore closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kiko quickly recovers to half guard.
Moore wants to control but Kiko is keeping him busy.
Moore takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Moore stands up from half guard.
Moore is looking to clinch but Kiko is avoiding it.
Kiko Kiko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck for Kiko with that takedown attempt.
Kiko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Moore instigates a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Moore turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kiko sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Kiko is trying to get back to full guard.
Moore is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Moore passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kiko!
Kiko is in a horrible position here. Moore smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kiko is wriggling around trying to escape.

Moore gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Moore throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Moore throws a nice looking combination but Kiko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Moore is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kiko's half guard.
Kiko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Moore content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kiko has hold of Moore's hands but Moore slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kiko is looking to escape.
Moore moves into full mount! Kiko won't be happy about that!

Moore wants to finish this one by submission but Kiko is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Moore.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Moore controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dustin Moore showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Moore decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Moore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kiko keeps working.
Kiko is trying to stand up here but Moore is controlling him well.

Moore decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Kiko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moore's waist but Moore gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kiko off to one side.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Moore misses with a low kick.

Moore gets the takedown into side control.
Kiko tries to improve position but can't.
Moore moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Moore scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kiko to see if he's OK.
Moore scores with punches from side control.
Moore working the ground and pound.
Kiko is looking for a sweep.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee asks Moore politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Moore prefers to stall for the moment though.
Kiko takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Kiko is working to avoid the ground and pound but Moore connects with a decent elbow.
A lull in the action here as Moore stalls from top position.
Moore has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Moore is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kiko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kiko is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Moore is controlling him well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moore controls the position.
Kiko can't do much from the bottom here.
Moore controls the position from side control.
Kiko wants to control but Moore postures up.
Moore controls the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kiko is looking for a sweep.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Moore decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Moore closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kiko blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Moore working hard to break the clinch.
Kiko has Moore pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Moore manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Moore pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Moore punishes Kiko's body with a nice straight punch.
Kiko Kiko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dustin Moore is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Moore looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dustin Moore comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Moore has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
